I have these dreams of customizing the Ducati and building my first custom motorcycle. I mean heck, I literally am piecing parts together piece by piece. I'm missing just about everything for it so it is the perfect candidate to turn into a custom. But that's not what this blog post. What I am working on prototyping is an elegant tool set that can go with the bike. I always liked how my BMW came with the original toolkit filled with basic tools needed to fix the bike, god forbid anything happened to you when you were out riding.
I also am using this opportunity to practice my turning on the lathe. I created this basic shape from a piece of 6061 aluminum and will finish it off by creating a brass ferule.
