Ducati Monza Front End Clean Up

I pulled the front end off of the Ducati Monza Junior in order to polish and clean up the crud that was on these parts. I started with the spring covers that looked like layers of dirt was stuck to the aluminum. You can see above dirty on the left and cleaned up on the right.

Another view.

Its hard to believe that the above started just like this. But to get all this crud off I threw them on the lathe and used some fine scotchgard pads and sandpaper to clean up the covers before throwing on some Mag Aluminum Polish.

Re assembled for now, I will probably powder coat the springs to protect them. Just that little bit of cleaning does a worlds difference, they look so much better, not too bad for a nights work.

Stay tuned!
