Green Lake Riding in the Dirt

Yvette and I went out to Green Lake before the Corona virus outbreak to ride in the dirt for the first time ever. When we pulled up to the shed, Donovan and August were already showing us how to climb near vertical bluffs with their Honda XR100.

August encouraged Yvette to hop on right away and take a few laps following Donovan.

The smile says it all.

August shows us how to do some fancy tricks. His background in BMX biking and motocross from a young age shows you how comfortable he is on a bike.

As the day progressed we all got faster on the track. There was a few tumbles and spills along the way, but as August and Karina said, "If your not falling, your not having fun."

I don't know how much fun falling down can be, but that statement reminds you to go hard and try your best. If you fall down, your among friends who want to see you succeed and get faster and be better.

August and Donovan are very competitive with each other. August comes in on the inside corner on his XR100 while Donovan fights for the lead on Sophie's Suzuki 185 two-stroke.

The day ended for us when Sophie, Donovan, August, and Karina started their hill climb competition up a pretty large incline. August went first and showed everyone how easy it was, followed by Karina, followed by Sophie who made it cleanly to the top, but her bike ended up upside down in the nearby tree.

We all had a blast and cannot wait to do it again soon. Stay tuned!
