Lowell Spudway Racing

Yvette and I were invited out to to Lowell Spudway this Saturday to practice some flat track racing. We met some new friends and of course some familiar faces. Ross, Donovon, Sophie, Karina, and August were all present along with some new friends like Kevin, Tanner, and Wade who is the owner of the Lowell Spudway.

We got the bikes off the trailer and were on the track in no time.

Sophie and Karina have been riding together for a long time together. They both are very strong riders and trade positions and follow each other and learn skills and techniques.

Sophie's background is in off roading and hare scrambles which suited her well on this dusty, loose track.

Karina has a background in off roading and ice racing with friends. She participated in some flat track events and did very well! The difference between todays track and groomed tracks are the groomed tracks are much more packed down and "sticky." Todays track was very dusty and loose, sandy soil which made the corners slick and the rear tire would often lose traction.

Stick around to read part 2 shortly!

Stay tuned!
